Questions to answer before you buy.

The guides are meant to reduce uncertainty. The purchase process should do the same.

Choosing a guide

Start with the device.

Which guide should I buy first?

For a first phone or computer, start with the guide for its operating system: iPhone, Android, macOS, Windows, or Chromebook. Add School Phone, Browser Safety, YouTube, Roblox, or ages 12–13 only when that is the specific next problem. The guide finder will recommend one starting point.

Do I need both the device guide and an age guide?

Not automatically. The device guide creates the account and controls foundation. The ages 12–13 guide is for reviewing an existing setup and deciding what to keep, loosen, or revisit. If the child is receiving a first phone at 12 or 13, use the guide finder to compare the two jobs.

What if the parent and child use different phone ecosystems?

Some management still works across ecosystems, while other controls depend on the platform’s own family-account system. Choose the child’s device guide first; it explains the accounts and parent access that the setup requires.

What you receive

Digital field guides, not long ebooks.

What is included in a guide?

The structure varies by product, but the goal is consistent: a quick pre-handoff view, recommended choices, the reasoning behind them, current configuration steps, what the child experiences, important limitations, and later review prompts.

How are the guides delivered?

Payhip provides secure checkout and instant digital delivery. After purchase, use the download link in the Payhip confirmation page or receipt. Save the file somewhere you can find it during setup.

Can I read the guide on my phone?

Yes, but setup is usually easier when the guide is open on a second phone, tablet, or computer while you configure the child’s device. You can also print the pages most useful to you.

What currency is used?

Prices displayed by KidPhoneSetup are in US dollars unless Payhip clearly shows otherwise at checkout.

What happens if I have a download or checkout problem?

Use the support contact provided in the Payhip receipt and include the product name and order details. Do not share passwords, full payment information, or a child’s personal information.

Accuracy and limits

What the guides can—and cannot—do.

Are the guides a guarantee that my child will be safe?

No. No setting, content filter, or supervision feature can guarantee safety. The guides help parents create a deliberate starting configuration, reduce preventable mistakes, understand limits, and schedule reviews.

Do the guides replace Apple, Google, Microsoft, YouTube, or Roblox support?

No. Official documentation remains the authority on how each platform works. KidPhoneSetup adds a parent decision layer: what to choose for the stated scenario, why, what the child sees, and when to reconsider it.

How do I know the steps are current?

High-change guidance should identify its applicable platform/version and verification date. The methodology explains the publication standard, and the update log records substantive changes. Always compare the guide with the current screen in front of you.

Why do some instructions say “verify” instead of “turn on”?

Some protections may already be active because of the child account, age, region, or current defaults. “Verify” means confirm how the protection is configured instead of assuming it starts off.

Are recommendations tied rigidly to age?

No. Age provides useful context, but readiness, needs, school rules, and family circumstances differ. The goal is to start with a reasonable profile and adjust based on observed use.

Still deciding?

Use the checklist before checkout.

The free checklist helps you identify whether your immediate need is the device foundation, school use, a browser, YouTube, Roblox, or an age-stage review.

You do not need every guide at once.
