Roblox setup hub

Link the parent account first, then configure the child’s Roblox experience as one system.

Roblox’s current parent tools cover content, games, communication, connections, visibility, spending, and time, but availability and defaults vary by age, region, and account type.

Recommended starting point

Use a separate adult Roblox account with parent privileges, verify and link it to the child, then choose content, communication, connections, visibility, spending, and time settings before testing from the child’s account.

Why this decision matters

Parents often change one chat toggle or device timer without confirming account age, parent privileges, game access, gift-card routes, or what happens inside individual experiences. An ordered setup makes those boundaries visible.

A practical starting sequence

1

Secure the identities

Confirm the child’s date of birth and recovery details, create the adult’s separate parent account, complete the current age-verification process, and link the accounts.

2

Configure the experience

Review content maturity, allowed or blocked games, sensitive-issue access, communication, connections, private servers, inventory, spending, and screen time.

3

Test as the child

Open the child account on every device, try a restricted game and communication route, inspect purchase paths, and let a time limit occur before regular play.

What the child experiences

The child may see unavailable games, permission requests, reduced communication, a purchase boundary, or a daily time-limit message. Explain each one as part of the account setup—not as a surprise during play.

Control boundaryWhat this setup does not promise

Roblox parental controls do not review every player interaction or every creator-built feature. Roblox notes that some communication features created independently inside experiences may sit outside platform chat settings.

When to review it

Review after the first week, at day 30, after age or account-type changes, when a new game becomes central, and whenever Roblox changes its parental-control terminology.
